Whom does Lord Shiva Worship?

Lord Shiva is often seen meditating. The crucial question is, "whom does Lord Shiva meditate upon?" In Hinduism, common premise is that Lord Shiva is supreme god. However, Lord Shiva is often depicted as meditating but it is a mystery that no one knows whom does Lord Shiva meditate upon when worshipping. Vishnu ji is saying:- (yellow highlighted text) It is through your power and lustre that the Sun is lustrous and becomes visible. Though you are the attributeless Self, yet by your Mayic power you appear in the form of this Prapancha Universe. When Brahma, Mahesha, and I myself take birth by you power and are not eternal, what more can be said of Indra and other Devas than this that they are mere temporary things and created. It is only you who is Eternal, Ancient Prakriti and the Mother of this Universe.

Shiva said:-- (highlighted green text) O Devi! If Hari be born by your power and the lotus-born Brahma have come into existence from you, why, then, I who of Tamo Guna be not born of you? O Auspicious One! You are clever in creating all the Lokas! What wonder is there in my being created by you.

Two things the above mentioned text in Shrimad Devi Bhagwat purana proves is that Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are in birth and death and therefore have a mother and a father.

Is Lord Shiva Immortal?

No, Lord Shiva is mortal. The above text from Durga Purana proves the fact that Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva take birth. Likewise they die. They are not immortal. Hence it proves that Shiva is not immortal.

What is the truth about whom does Lord Shiva Worship?

Lord Shiva does not have the knowledge about his father. He however, knows that there is a higher force above him which for Shiva is nameless. He just reminisces in this higher power.
