Origin and History of Dera Sacha Sauda
The Panth Dera Sacha Sauda was started by Shah Mastana Balochistani, who was a disciple of Radha Soami Guru Sawan Singh Ji. The original name of Shah Mastana was Khema Mal. He became a self-styled Guru and alienated his spiritual teacher (Guru) Sawan Singh Ji because he was not chosen as his successor of the Dera Beas. He founded his own Dera in Sirsa, Haryana and started giving initiation (naam).
He died in 1960 after reacting to an injection administered by a doctor. He could not appoint anyone as his successor. Two of his disciples namely Shah Satnam Singh and Manager Sahib were claimants to the seat. The congregation after testing for a long time finally decided Shah Satnam Singh as an heir of Shah Mastana. Irked by the decision, Manager Sahib left Dera Sacha Sauda and set up a separate Ashram in village Jagmalwali where he started giving initiation. After Shah Satnam Singh, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh became the third master of Dera Sacha Sauda on 23 September 1990.
Dera Sacha Sauda Lineage
Shah Sawan Singh obtained initiation from Baba Jaimal Singh who was a disciple of Seth Shiv Dayal Singh. Seth Shiv Dayal started the Radha Soami Panth. Baba Sawan Singh had many disciples. Of which, two, Shri Khema Mal (Shah Mastana) and Shri Kirpal Singh, started considering themselves to be the successor of Shah Sawan Singh.
Therefore, Shah Sawan Singh averted the conflict between the two, bypassing both of them made Shri Jagat Singh sit on the seat of Radha Soami Dera Beas. Agitated by this incident, both (Shri Khema Mal and Shri Kirpal Singh) became rebellious.
Shri Khema Mal (later known as Shah Mastana or Mastana Balochistani) established Dera Sacha Sauda in Begu Road, Sirsa, Haryana. Shah Satnam Singh was his successor, followed by Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
Vision of Dera Sacha Sauda
Dera Sacha Sauda visualizes an egalitarian, peaceful, self-confident and a world free from social evils where entire mankind will strive to serve each other. The spiritual realization and attainment of God are foremost through the practice of true meditation. They believe in the same, One God. They advocate for vegetarianism and drug/alcohol-free lifestyle.
Origin of Dera Sacha Sauda Holy Slogan
Shah Mastana was a man with spiritual accomplishment. He could even make notes (rupees) with his power but he had no earnings of true worship / bhakti left for future. A very fine day, Lord Kabir met him as a ‘Zinda’ (Pir) and asked him to follow the true way of worship but he refused to believe Him. He was proud of his great spiritual achievements. Soon, Lord Kabir realized that he would not accept, then Lord Kabir disappeared. Later, Shah Mastana regretted and again went to Delhi in Safdarjung, Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah, etc., with Shah Satnam Singh and other disciples in search of that ‘Zinda’ with a thought probably this Nizamuddin might have met me as ‘Zinda Pir’ on 16 April 1960 {as evident in Page 48-49 of book Satguru ke Parmarthi Karishmon Ka Vritant (part-1)}. In the memory of that Pir, he gave the slogan “Dhan Dhan satguru tera hi Aasra, Zinda ram tera hi Asara”. Their devotees now believe that raising this slogan can help them in their challenging times.
What happened to Dera Sacha Sauda?
The third master of the Dera Sacha Sauda, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is not only a cult leader but has released several music albums and films, which typically revolve around him and his teachings. His luxurious lifestyle is very familiar to the people. As a matter of fact,The Indian Express had placed Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh 96th in their list of the 100 most powerful Indians of 2015. He has also been convicted of rape and murder and is currently serving sentence. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted of rape on 25 August 2017, by a special Central Bureau of Investigation court. Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison on 28 August 2017. Again in January 2019, he was convicted of the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Incomplete Saints and its Faulty Concept
In Radhasoami, Jaigurudev Panth, Sacha Sauda Sirsa, and Jagmal Wali Panth, discourses are delivered based on the viewpoints of Seth Shiv Dayal Singh who himself had no Guru. Seth Shiv Dayal Singh gave Jaap of five naam / mantras-Rarankar, Omkar, Jyoti Niranjan, Soham, and Satnam. All of which belonged to Kaal as evident below:
Ghat Ramayan Part-1 By Satguru Tulsi Saheb (Hathras wale) Chapter-Bhed pind aur brahmand ka (Page 27)
“Pancho naam jiv jab bhakha, chhathwa naam gupt kari rakha
Pancho naam kaal k jano, tab dani man sanka aano…………………
……… (Jiv Vachan)…Surti nirti le lok sidhau, aadi naam le kaal girau
Satnaam le jiv ubari, as chal jau purush darbari”
He could not attain salvation himself and obtained the life of a ghost, entering in his female disciple ‘Bukki’, used to resolve the doubts of his disciples. This is to be given a thought that, the Panth whose originator faced downfall, what will happen to his followers?
As in Radha Soami, they also consider God to be formless. They don’t have accurate knowledge about the true Naam (Satnam). They have changed their naam/mantras to differ themselves from the Radha Soami Panth and give “Satpurush, Akal Murt, Shabad Swaroopi Ram '' which are inaccurate and cannot provide salvation.
The simple fact that Baba Sawan Singh died in April 1948 and Shah Mastana started giving initiation (Naam) in April 1949 proves that he had no orders from his Guru, otherwise he would have started giving it straight away. Shah Mastana only had orders to propagate the Radha Soami Panth but being a rebel he started his dera at Sirsa, Haryana. This renders the whole Dera Sacha Sauda useless and arbitrary.
Shah Mastana, in his tour to Delhi (18 April 1960) went to hospital citing cough as an excuse and died in hospital due to reaction from an injection administered by a doctor as apparent on Page 31 of the book published from the Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa – “Satguru ke Parmarthi Krishmo ke Vritant” (Part-1). The book further mentioned that he went to ‘Anami Lok’ after attaining salvation. But again, in the same book (on page 56), it is written that Shah Mastana has taken rebirth as Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who took birth seven years after his death on 15 August 1967.
Point to Ponder – If Shah Mastana had attained salvation then why rebirth? The fact is they have no idea what and where is ‘Satlok’?, ‘Anami Lok’. How to attain the eternal abode?
It is evident in Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Chapter 15 Verse 4, the one who performs true worship after obtaining knowledge from a ‘Tatvadarshi Saint’ goes to that Supreme abode of the Supreme God, having gone where they never return to this world.
Thus, it has been proved that Shah Mastana Ji did not attain salvation. The pious soul had some earnings of bhakti left, which he will now destroy by enjoying luxuries in this life as Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Instead of salvaging the devotees, he will ruin their lives without the right way of worship.
Life and Death of Shah Satnam Singh
Ref: Biography of Satnaam Ji, Publisher and Printer is Indra Sen, Prabandhak, Dera Sacha Sauda, Begu Road, Sirsa-Haryana
Shah Satnam Singh, the second spiritual leader faced various health complications throughout his lifetime. He was born on 25 Jan 1919 in Village Jalalana, Tehsil Dabwali, District Sirsa, Haryana. In 1978, he had a stone operation in Jaslok hospital, Bombay (as mentioned on page 10-13 of the book published from DSS-“Mere Satguru Ka Safarnama Aur Mere Satguru Ki Jivo Udhar Yatra”).
On 12 May 1989, a devotee called Bibi prayed Shah Satnam Singh to bless and cure her severe leg pain (as mentioned on page 7 of the same book -“Mere Satguru Ka Safarnama Aur Mere Satguru Ki Jivo Udhar Yatra”. Then he comforted her that these sufferings are parts and parcel of our life which cannot be escaped. This depends on our Karma. Since she insisted again, the kind soul of Shah Satnam Singh blessed her and said “Acha Bibi! Tera dard toh dur ho jayega, aur humare ho jayega”. As disclosed on page 9 of the same book, Shah Satnam Singh started having problems in his leg which later became one of the main reasons for his death. This issue lasted for years and finds mention in the book again and again. Before his death on 13 December 1991, he developed other critical health problems too.
Point to Ponder - No doubt a saint can surely be ill but the bone of contention here is why he had to pay off for his blessings given to his devotee? Is it because his reserve of earnings from righteous deeds was over?
Yajurveda Chapter 8 Mantra 13 indisputably says that God can forgive even the heinous sins if and only if one performs correct worship after obtaining initiation from ‘True Saint’ according to our Holy Scriptures.
God Kabir says,
“Kabir, jabhi satyanam hriday dharyo, bhayo paap ko naash
Mano chingi agni ki, pari purani ghas”
Meaning: God Kabir says reciting’ Satnam’ (True initiation) of God can destroy sins just as the spark of fire can burn dry grasses.
In chapter ‘Pura Guru’ of the book "Jivan Charitra Baba Jaimal Singh Ji Maharaj” on page 108 (Author- Shri Kripal Singh), it is stated that there is no harm in preferring non-vegetarian diet and alcohol, if necessary. It contradicts one of the main six missions of the Dera Sacha Sauda.
Towards Completeness….
Though every other concerned organization claims to advocate the most appropriate way of worship, it is accurate only when it is supported by proper authentic shreds of evidence. Here, pointing out loopholes should not be misunderstood as condemnation. It is just like if someone is involved in producing or using counterfeit money then the government takes several steps to warn people and prevent such activities by making people aware of the distinction between real and fake currency notes. Thus, it implies that revealing what is right from wrong doesn't mean condemnation.
You might be wondering if this is not accurate knowledge then how should we categorize and find the truth. Well, following points as per Tatvadarshi Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj can fulfill your quest:
Who is a True Saint?
- The contemporary spiritual leaders will be His rivals. The misled King and the people inflict atrocities on Him. (as per Kabir Vani)
“Jo mm sant sat updesh bataavae, vaake sang sabhi raad badaavae
Ya sab sant mahantan ki karni, Dharmdas main to se varni”
- A True saint is a thorough knower of all the four Vedas, six Shastras, eighteen Puranas. He decodes their essence accurately. (Yajurveda Chapter 19 Verse 25)
-
He instructs worship of God three times a day i.e. Morning-Afternoon-Evening. (Yajurveda Chapter 19 Verse 26)
-
The disciple of True Saint is directed to abstain from alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, and prohibited food, etc.(Yajurveda Chapter 19 Verse 30)
-
He will give initiation/naam in three stages i.e. Pratham naam, Satnaam & Sarnaam. (Kabir Sagar Granth-Chapter Bodh Sagar page no. 265; Gita Chapter 17 Verse 23; Samved sankhya no.822)
Today, the true guru is Tatvadarshi Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj who has untangled spiritual facts from all holy scriptures and holds above facts true.
Importance of Guru (spiritual teacher)
The importance of Guru can be understood by following ‘Vani/couplets’:
“Guru ke dil se utare, wo naam bihu na hoye
Wako Kaal ghasitega, rakh sake na koi”
Meaning: Kabir Saheb says the one who descends from the heart of her/his spiritual teacher (Guru) and works in self-interest against Guru then she or he gets devoid of initiation (naam). Such people will be dragged brutally by Kaal/ Jyoti Niranjan/ Kshar Purush. Then no one can dare to save them.
“Kabir guru bin mala ferte, guru bin dete daan
Guru bin dono nishfal hai, pucho ved puran”
Meaning: Kabir Saheb says that without guru neither rosary counts nor alms are fruitful to attain salvation. Even Vedas and Puranas affirm the same.
“ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥(SGGS Page 946, Line 8)
(SGGS Page 946, Line 9)
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੁਆ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਾਰਿ ॥੭੦॥(SGGS Page 946, Line 10)”
Meaning: Without the True Guru, no one is liberated as without him one can't obtain true initiation (naam). Without him, one also suffers in terrible pain and there is only the deep darkness of egotistical pride. One loses the opportunity of this life.
Dera Sacha Sauda being an offshoot of such Panth (i.e. Radhasoami) which itself didn’t have any Guru at the time of its birth signifies that the whole sect is arbitrary. Moreover, Shah Mastana had no orders from Baba Sawan Singh to establish a Dera in Sirsa, Haryana. Thus, he was not an authorized Guru. He could not attain salvation himself then his disciple achieving it, is far from a question.
True Initiation / Naam (Satnaam) | Dera Sacha Sauda Naam daan
The three naam of Dera Sacha Sauda are Sat Purush, Akaal Moorat, Shabd Swaroopi Ram. These are synonymous words of Supreme God (Purn Brahm Parmatma). Like:
- Sat Purush - the God who is immortal.
- Akaal Moorat - the God who has no Kaal (death / destruction) i.e. immortal.
- Shabd Swaroop Ram - the God who is in the form of Shabd (word). The word is imperishable i.e. immortal.
Thus, these three words are only indicative describing that powerful Supreme God but in reality, the underlying mantras are different. To know more read naam mantra of which god has to be chanted.
Note: It is just like ‘water’ has synonymous words in Hindi like Jal - Pani - Neer. Thus, by chanting only these three words one can’t get water. Rather than romanticizing about it, one has to fix handpumps, taps, etc to obtain water practically. Only then it will quench the thirst!
An important point mentioned in the book by DSS “Satguru ke Parmarthi Krishmo ke Vritant” (Part-1) says Shah Mastana Ji after death went to ‘Anami Lok’, which is attaining salvation, but this book also mentions he came back after seven years as Gurmeet Singh Insaan, means rebirth happened. Their statements are contradictory due to ignorance. After attaining ‘Anami Lok’ no one comes back to this deceased world.
Let us tell you what is ‘Anami Lok’?
What is Anami Lok?
At the inception, there was only one place called ‘Anami (Anamay) lok’, which is also known as Akah Lok. Here, the Supreme God Kabir aboded alone. All the souls were contained in the body of that Supreme God. Later, God Kabir created three other lower Loks (places) called Agam Lok, Alakh lok & Satlok. So, these are the places after reaching where people attain salvation (moksha). To attain ‘Anami Lok’ the worship is done after attaining ‘Satlok’.
Note: This proves, this sect has been simply fooling innocent devotees. They do not know the ABC of spiritualism. This is Kaal’s trap which has been untangled by Tatvadarshi Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj. Since the truth cannot be denied, for a while, one must keep conventional thoughts and practices aside. The intellectuals must reconsider thinking and dive into the depth of our holy scriptures rather than just following someone or something irrationally. One must not lose this human life simply without knowing its actual objective. It needs to be based on a concrete foundation.
Almighty Kavir Dev Ji says:
“Satguru purush Kabir hai, ye charo yug pravan
Ye jhuthe guruwa mar gaye, ho gaye bhoot masan”
Meaning: The Supreme God (or true guru) is Almighty Kabir who was present in all four yugas or eras (i.e. as Satsukrit in Satya Yug, as Munindra in Treta Yug, as Karunamay in DwaparYug and Kaliyug He appeared in His original identity as Kabir). Other fake and so-called spiritual teachers became ghosts after death instead of attaining salvation.
This becomes imperative to mention here, that every human being must chant the true Naam/Mantra (Satnaam) to attain God after taking initiation from an enlightened saint. The religious practices told by these fake guru will end up devotees in Kaal’s trap. Neither these fake spiritual leaders will attain salvation nor their disciples.
God in Form vs. Formless
Simple and plain answer: God is in FORM and He has created us alike.
Shreds of evidence are in Holy Vedas, Pious Shrimad Bhagawad Gita, Holy Quran Sharif, Holy Bible, Pious Guru Granth Sahib.
Note: Just like there can't be sunlight (formless) without a sun (in a form), there can't be Light of God (formless) without God (in a form).
Let us Summarize...
Aforesaid, proves the following facts:-
- A pious soul like Shah Mastana Ji who healed sorrows of lacs of disciples, himself had a painful death. He died with an injection reaction. Had he done true worship he would not have died with pain.
- Shri Satnaam Singh Ji utilized his devotional earnings by blessing others all through his life and himself left empty-handed during his last days. He had a painful death.
- The rebirth of Shah Mastana Ji after seven years as Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insaan (as their book reveals) proves he did not attain salvation. Rebirth happens of all creatures in Kaal’s 21 universes including all divinities and the owner ie. Brahm-Kaal. This is a mortal world.
- In the absence of true worship, after the consumption of good fortunes, all great men suffer, the same as Shah Mastana Ji, Satnaam Singh Ji and presently Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insaan who is imprisoned. There is no trace of happiness in Kaal’s region.
- One must abandon fake gurus and take refuge of a true spiritual leader. The worship should be done according to the holy scriptures after taking initiation from an enlightened saint.
- True worship (chanting of Satnaam and Sarnaam) is a must to attain God.
