The idea is to understand that the mind is often restless, but by meditating on the divine, one can calm this inner chaos.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, remain connected to the eternal sound of the divine. Understand, O mind, that the realization of ‘You, only You’ is the ultimate truth."

  Message: The mind is in a state of constant turmoil, but focusing on the divine sound can help it find peace.

2. Union with the Divine (सोहं षब्द सही मिलै):

Here, Garib Das Ji emphasizes that true mantra (Soham Mantra) and the true knowledge (भेद अपार) lies beyond intellectual comprehension and can only be imparted by a complete saint.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, understand that the true union happens through the sound of So’ham, and the secret beyond is boundless."

  Message: Divine truth cannot be grasped by the intellect alone; it requires a complete saint to impart that knowledge and mantra of worship.

3. Transcending Duality (जहां ज्ञान ध्यान की गमि नहीं):

This verse refers to a realm where conventional knowledge and meditation (ज्ञान ध्यान) do not reach. It speaks of a state beyond sensory perception (सुरति निरति), pointing to a higher plane of consciousness.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, where there is no knowledge or meditation, no sensory perception reaches. Understand, O mind, this is beyond ordinary comprehension."

  Message: The divine cannot be attained through ordinary means; it lies beyond what the senses or mind can fathom.

4. The Limits of Meditation (कोटिक प्रानी ध्यान धरि):

Millions may engage in meditation, but they often fall back into worldly cycles (भौ आय), indicating that forced meditation is not the right way to achieve the Supreme Lord.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, millions meditate, but they fall back into the material world. Understand, O mind, this cycle of ignorance."

  Message: Meditation without true insight into the divine’s nature is useless.

5. Spiritual Courage (सिर साटे का खेल है):

This is a metaphor for the spiritual journey being like a game where one must be willing to sacrifice everything, even the ego and self (represented by the head) to attain the divine.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, this is a game of beheading, where the bed is atop the gallows. Understand this, O mind."

  Message: True spiritual ascension requires the ultimate sacrifice of ego and attachment.

6. Realm of Light (जहां संख कोटि रवि झिलमिलैं):

Garib Das Ji describes a realm where countless suns shine brightly, symbolizing a divine realm of unimaginable light and purity.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, where millions of suns shimmer, that is the realm of divine radiance. Understand, O mind."

  Message: The divine realm is filled with pure, radiant light beyond human comprehension.

7. Facing Fear (कायर भागे देखते):

Only the brave can endure the intensity of the divine sound (अनहद), which is overwhelming and fearsome to those unprepared.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, the cowards flee upon hearing the thunderous divine sound. Understand, O mind."

  Message: When a satguru (complete master) accompanies a soul to the higher destination, the thunderous sounds do to deter the soul.

8. Inner Strength (घाव नहीं मैं घावले):

Those who are spiritually courageous (सूरा) can withstand the trials on the path to realization, as they understand the divine’s deeper truths.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, there are no wounds on those who are wounded (by divine love). The brave find a place of rest. Understand, O mind."

  Message: The spiritual journey might be challenging, but the spiritually brave remain unharmed and steadfast.

9. Surrender and Sacrifice (लोझा पीठि न फेर हीं):

Turning away from the challenges of spiritual growth is akin to losing the battle. Only those who willingly offer their heads (ego) to the divine will succeed.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, do not turn your back, but offer your head facing forward. Understand, O mind."

  Message: True seekers must face challenges head-on and surrender their ego to the divine.

10. Attaining the Divine (तन मन मिरतग हो रहै):

One must become fully absorbed in divine love, where body and mind become lifeless in worldly matters, allowing the soul to meet the Lord.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, when body and mind become lifeless (in devotion), then you meet the Lord of the Universe. Understand, O mind."

  Message: Complete surrender in devotion is the only way to meet the Divine.

11. Journey to Satlok (सतलोक कूँ चालिये):

The ultimate goal is to journey to Satlok, the eternal realm of truth, which can only be achieved through the company of saints (संत समागम).

• Translation: "O wandering mind, let us journey to Satlok, through the company of saints. Understand, O mind."

  Message: True liberation comes through the guidance of saints and the journey to the eternal abode of truth.

12. Divine Throne (तहां एक गुमट अनूप है):

In Satlok, there is a divine throne and royal splendor, representing the ultimate realization and spiritual fulfillment.

• Translation: "O wandering mind, there is an incomparable dome where the throne and canopy await. Understand, O mind."

  Message: The divine throne awaits those who reach the highest state of spiritual realization.

13. The Eternal Realm (षब्द महल गुलजार है):

This verse describes the eternal divine abode, where the divine sound (शब्द) resonates, and all is filled with beauty and joy and a divine whisk automatically fans the Supreme Lord

• Translation: "O wandering mind, where the palace of the divine sound blooms, where the whisk waves in joy. Understand, O mind."

  Message: The eternal abode is a realm of unending joy and spiritual fulfillment, where the divine sound pervades.

14. The Ultimate Destination (दास गरीब जहां रते):

In this verse, Sant Garib Das Ji speaks about a deeply spiritual experience and the ultimate destination of the soul. The phrase "दास गरीब जहां रते" refers to the spiritual realm where Sant Garib Das Ji resides or meditates—this represents a place of supreme bliss and divine connection. He calls the mind "bawra," which means a wandering or restless mind, and advises it to understand the importance of this divine realm.

The "उजल भौंर" (radiant divine sounds) that "गूजैं" (echo or resonate) refers to the celestial sounds, associated with higher spiritual planes. These divine vibrations symbolize the presence of a pure, untainted spiritual experience beyond the material world.
