The Origin of the Universe in Atharvaveda

The sacred Atharvaveda, one of the four revered Vedas in Hinduism, contains profound revelations about the origin of the universe. In particular, Atharvaveda Kaand 4, Anuvaak 1, Mantras 1 to 7 describe the process of creation, the role of divine entities, and the identity of the Supreme God. These mantras offer deep spiritual insight, aligning perfectly with the teachings of Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj, who reveals that God Kabir (KavirDev) is the Supreme Creator.

Mantra 1 – Creation of the Universes by the Eternal God

The narrator of the Vedas, Brahm (also known as Kaal), acknowledges that the Eternal God, by His own wisdom, appeared in Satlok from the eternal region known as Anamay Lok (Anami). He then created the upper regions including Satlok, weaving them like a boundless, self-illuminated cloth of creation. These are everlasting realms, unlike the lower temporary creations. The same Supreme God later created the seven sankh (innumerable) universes of ParBrahm and 21 universes of Brahm (Kaal), as well as all the smaller forms of creation within them.

Mantra 2 – Creation of Parashakti (Rashtri)

The Supreme Father God used His word-power to create Rashtri, the First Maya or Parashakti Rajeshwari (also known as Prakriti or Durga). It is through this supreme energy that all the universes maintain their existence. The gravitational or attractive force that holds the universes together is the manifestation of this energy, created and governed by the Supreme God.

Mantra 3 – Origin of Souls and Knowledge

Supreme God, through His own divine intellect, reveals the origin of all souls and the nature of creation to His true servant (a Tatvadarshi Saint). He brought forth Brahm (Kaal) from within Himself through His word-power and then sustained all the creations: Satlok, Alakh Lok, Agam Lok, Anami Lok above, and the universes of Brahm and ParBrahm below. The foundation of all these is His divine force.

Mantra 4 – Eternal and Temporary Regions

The upper four realmsSatlok, Alakh Lok, Agam Lok, and Akah/Anami Lok—are eternal and indestructible, created by the Supreme God Himself. Conversely, the lower regions belonging to Brahm and ParBrahm, as well as other temporary worlds, were also created by Him but are not eternal.

Mantra 5 – Birth of Ashtangi (Durga) and Worldly Creation

The Supreme God gave rise to Ashtangi (also called Prakriti Devi, Durga) in Satlok, specifically in the region that is the first from below among the upper four. This God, the King of kings, is the SatPurush (Complete God) from whom all beings originally separated. After this, all living beings came into existence from the union of Jyoti Niranjan (Kaal) and Durga, and they began residing in Heaven and Earth.

Mantra 6 – Return to Satlok through True Worship

This mantra reveals that the Supreme God guides His true devotee—one who performs authentic worship—back to Satlok, the original and eternal home. On reaching there, the soul overflows with bliss and praises the Lord, saying: “O God! After countless births, we have finally found our true abode.”

Mantra 7 – Identity of Supreme God as KavirDev (God Kabir)

The final mantra makes a clear declaration: the Supreme Creator who made all the universes is KavirDev, i.e., God Kabir. He is the eternal, changeless God described in Bhagavad Gita Chapter 15 Verses 16–17 as the Supreme Purush (Uttam Purush). He is the Jagat Guru (Universal Teacher), the true support of the soul, the real Mother, Father, Brother, and Supreme God (Dev). He never deceives like Kaal (Brahm) and alone is worthy of being worshipped.

Conclusion

The Atharvaveda explicitly reveals the Supreme Being as KavirDev (God Kabir), who creates all realms and souls by His word-power. This aligns with the spiritual teachings of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, who identifies God Kabir as the only worshipable Supreme God. Unlike Brahm (Kaal) who causes suffering through birth-death cycles, KavirDev liberates souls permanently, guiding them back to the eternal abode of Satlok.

Hence, the truth lies not in blind rituals or symbolic worship, but in recognizing, understanding, and worshipping the real Supreme God—KavirDev (Kabir Sahib)—as per the holy scriptures.
